Swap?

Does anyone want to do a swap?

I've never done one before and I'd really like to, I see all these awesome posts and I want to play too.

Freecycle.

- I recently started reading a blog Getcha Nails Did and saw that she had used free cycle and gotten polishes that way and so I decided I'd give a try.  I mean the worst that could happen is no replies right?  (Or being murdered upon showing up at their house I suppose...).  I got a reply right away from a woman in my area, and I went over and picked up the box she left out for me (Thank you!).  I was giddy to see what was inside but I made myself wait to drive away (a whole two blocks) before pulling over and looking.

A list of what was inside:

Sally Hansen Insta-Brite Nail Whitener
Loreal Jet Set in Hyper Speed (I don't really remember these bottles at all.)
Loreal Jet Set in Beat (Pretty shimmer.)
Maybelline Forever Strong in Lasting Lilac (I wouldn't have said lilac but it does look nice.)
Maybelline Express Finish in Mod Mauve (I like the looks of this too.)
Wet N Wild Fast Dry in How I Met Your Magenta (I was actually JUST going to buy this last Sunday when the WnW's went on sale at Walgreens, and I picked up the box on Saturday, the nail polish gods were watching me apparently.)
Elf Nourishing Cuticle Pen
Then there were some odds and ends, separators, scissors, files.

First Franken!

- Okay, I used equal parts Wild Frost and Hallucinate, both by Wet n Wild.  For a empty bottle, I dumped out a top coat I'd gotten in a Maybelline two pack at the dollar store which was yellowed.  I dumped it into a empty bottle I'd gotten at a store here called Ax Man (I got a few bottles for like 15 cents each) since I figured I could use it in other frankens.

I really liked the way this looked in the bottle when I did it, but I probably should have never done equal parts of the polishes, I shouldn't have put so much Hallucinate in since they were both kind of a sheer color.   It looked a lot darker in the bottle than on my nails which made me sad.  I didn't hate this by any means I just didn't like how sheer it went on since then I had to layer on the coats.

Side note: I worn this to the Carnival Of Madness tour at the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday!

Julep Polishes Tried.

- This is Emilie and Sienna (on my ring finger).  I loved that Emilie was almost a one coat polish it was so lovely.  I did two just to make sure it was even.  And I'm not always a gold polish girl but I liked the way Sienna looked and the way it dried, kind of textured.  Lovely.  I'm sure it'd be amazing under like black crackle too or any dark crackle maybe.

I Got My Julep Maven Box!

- I think it's lovely and adorable that it comes gift wrap, so that if you did want to give it as a gift it's already beautifully done for you.

I got two polishes and a base coat.  The green is Emilie, the gold is Sienna.  Then I also got a base coat.   Those alone are a total of 42 dollars.  Then I also got a Glycolic Hand Scrub (which on the site costs 32 dollars), then I got a sample of the same hand scrub (which I will give to a friend) and of their SPF 30 hand cream.  So we're looking at about 75 dollars worth of products not factoring in the lovely gift wrap or the samples.  This was a amazing package.  I am so glad I took the chance and ordered, and I'm saying this without even trying any of it, because I'm sure I will adore something and will have entirely gotten my moneys worth.

If you haven't signed up to be a lovely Julep Maven yet, you best get on it, I really don't know what you're waiting for, it's an amazing deal, and if you use the code below it's even better.

Added Liners.

- I took all my polishes out of the drawers and put in shelf liners that are grippy and will keep them from sliding.  Sorry for the camera phone picture just wanted to post one, you can see the liner in the blank space.  It was a really cool blue and I found it at the dollar store.  Yay.

I also got another drawer system today (Michael's has them on sale for buy one get one for a penny!) but we haven't put it together yet.

New Drawer System!

- I got this at Michael's it was mispriced and on sale so I got it for 18 dollars and it holds all my polish which kind of shocked me.  Anyone want to guess how many I have?  I just hope it doesn't collapse lol
I kept my crackles, stripers, base and top coats in my Ice Breakers display thing.  Then in the wicker basket I have my Konad stuff, nail stickers, glitters, etc.
