Project Day 5.

 - Just a full face.  Blah.  I'm not feeling good today.
 - This was a really odd angle for my eye, and it's my left eye with my psychotic eyebrow, instead of my right eye that I normally take pics of.
- This is the normal Elf primer, Loreal mascara, and the the lighter blue and white from the palette but I mixed in another shadow, Jordana in Alter Ego.  It was the second Jordana shadow I've tried.  I tried Ms. Brown yesterday (with the palette) but I didn't get pictures yesterday or the day before (when I did the bronzey/browns from the palette).   I really liked both Jordana shades I tried.  And I know Kmart is clearancing some, so you might want to check that out if you want to try them too or just want some new ones.

Update On The Project:
I did end up finishing off my conditioner yesterday, and tomorrow I'll probably finish the shampoo.  So yay for finishing something.

Day 2.

 - This one was taken inside, in my normal lighting I use.

I used my palette again and just the palette (for shadows), then I used the Elf primer of course and the Loreal mascara.

I also used my EOS multiple times today, and the lotion.   Plus I just took a shower, so I used the shampoo/conditioner and body wash.  I have to work eyeliner in tomorrow.
- This one was taken outside on my way out to do a few things.

I used green, two shades of blue and white for the eye look.

First Day Of The Project...

 - So I used that eyeshadow palette on my products list (as well as the Elf primer and Loreal mascara).  The colors look better in person, as they always do, but I was happy with the colors I used, with the payoff they gave.
 - I used pink, purple, sparkly black, and white.

- You can also kind of see a cute bracelet I got off ebay in these shots too.

Sinful Sinnamon...

 - The camera didn't seem the capture the color of these shadows right at all.  I wish I could take pictures with my eyes, they'd turn out so much better sometimes.  Dear camera, why you no capture the beauty?

You can't even tell there are two colors here.  Sadness.

Anyway, it's Elf primer, Maybelline Sinful Sinnamon, Maybelline gel liner, and Loreal Voluminous False Lashes Mascara.
- And a full face shot, even tho all I'm wearing on my lips is EOS.

Target Freebie Bag!

I got my Target Beauty Bag freebie today, I'm so glad I was up and caught this go live, I've gotten it the last two times before this too, I love these.   This one was gone so fast.

I really like the bag, and I love the shape it was this time that it's more square than clam shaped.

Then we have the Pond samples, I've been curious about those.  Then we have three different shampoo samples (The John Frieda is the shampoo I currently use, you may recognize it from my previous post.   And also in a footnote to my previous post, when I was saying I had tons of samples and trial sizes of shampoo/conditioners this is what I meant (well with the travel size as well) that I'll figure I'll work on trying to use up after I'm done with my full size product ones.)    Then we also have a Loreal Youth Code sample.  I was sad no coupons this year, coupons are love.  But I'm thankful for what I did get.

So yay good mail day, I was hoping this would show up today.
Tomorrow I should have my first Bloom order!

Project Pan/Shop Your Stash/Try Not To Buy Anything.

Okay so me and my friend Alexandra are going to do a type of Project Pan.
We're going to start on Friday I think.

Here is a list of the items I have picked:
  1. Absolute! Eyeshadow Palette - 12 Colors
  2. Sally Hansen Hard As Nails (Using As A Nail Polish Base Coat)
  3. Vaseline Lotion
  4. Wet N Wild Coloricon Pencil Eyeliner In Black Black
  5. John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo
  6. John Frieda Full Repair Conditioner
  7. EOS Lip Balm In Sweet Mint
  8. Philosophy Body Wash in Happy Birthday!
  9. Elf Eyeshadow Primer
  10. Loreal Voluminous False Lashes Mascara
  11. Clean And Clear Eye Makeup Remover
I ended up with 11 items instead of say 10.
Here's kind of what I'm thinking we'll do this for a month and then regroup and see where we want to go from there and see how our progress is.

I expect to for sure use at least half of these items, if not more.   I also have an idea for what to do when I've used some of them up, like say the shampoo/conditioner I have a bunch of mini bottles I've gotten as freebie/samples and I think I'll work my way through using them after these to try and get rid of some of them since I don't travel much and don't need a bunch of them taking up space other things could be in.  I also have other body washes and lotions I can work on making my way through next.  Same with base coats and eye primers, and EOS.

And okay, other rules I'm thinking of.
  • I can buy limited edition things, and depending on the item maybe I won't use it and save it as a reward.
  • And while I am using an eye palette as one of my items, I am not required to use just that, I can use other eyeshadows with my look as long as I use something from this palette.
  • Also I've never really used this palette it's brand new.  I'm going to add a loophole in, if it's the worst piece of crap ever that won't work for anything I can swap it out for a different palette.   But I will do my best with this one.
  • And whatever shopping I do for my swaps I'm already in will not count against me and whatever I get for my swap won't count against me either.

This is my first Project Pan of any kind.  I have tried a no buy before which didn't work very well.   I know I probably won't do perfectly on this (is it wrong I'm already thinking that?  I think I'm being more of a realist than anything I know me.) but I will try.  And I don't expect to use every item entirely in a month, but I'd like to make a good dent in what I don't finish.

And here's a photo of my products:

Testing Milani Eye Makeup Out...

- This is totally just something I was testing out, it isn't a look, nor if it were a look would it be a finished one.

I picked up Milani's eyeshadow in Coffee Shop clearanced at CVS for 1.69 (If you haven't looked at your CVS, a fair amount of Milani is clearanced although maybe not marked.) and the (also Milani) Eye Tech Liquid Liner in Charcoal clearanced for under 2 dollars.

I was just testing them out at the same time.  The eyeshadow took work to get pay off, but I really like the color and I'm glad I know that now and I didn't pay full price for it.  Also the eyeliner went on nice, but I do wonder how often will I reach for a gray liner?

In the end I did kind of like those colors together, thoughts?

MyGlam Take Two...

- This is my second MyGlam I've gotten.   Here's the post for the first bag I got.   If you haven't read it you might want to.   There was a lot of drama last month, bags going missing, people getting two bags, people being charged more than once, people getting bags that had been shipped to other people and opened.  Nothing good about any of that.

But this month is a new month.

So I got my bag, in a somewhat decent timely fashion.  It was Valentine's Day themed, although the only thing I think that is Valentine's Day about it is the bag and maybe the chocolates (there were two in that little gray box).   I should have had a X Out Shine Control product but it was missing from my bag.   There was also a mask (two masks products back to back and from the same company), two Premier Dead Sea samples.  A "gift certificate" for 100 dollars at Nu-Me, but it's only able to be used on hair styling tools (the cheapest being 115 dollars, with I think I read 12 dollars shipping, so you're still out nearly 30 out of pocket, which if you really wanted a mini flat iron then that's awesome and great.  But I kind of feel gyped since I have no use for this.  You could also use it on hair extensions, the cheapest being 200 dollars.  I don't need hair extensions either.), so it's more of a coupon with restrictions than a gift card.   Then there was the cute cosmetic bag, pink with black hearts, I do really like that.  And a NYX Roll On Shimmer, I got it in Salmon.   It's a pretty color.

I did email them about my missing product, I kind of felt I had to go round with them once or twice to figure out what was going to be done, I've been put on the list for a replacement, and if they don't end of having any then I will get a refund.

I'm swapping the "gift certificate", I'm getting make up instead, which I'll certainly use much more and am excited for.

The chocolate was good.
The color of the NYX was good, and I do enjoy the NYX products I've tried so far.
I'm eh about the mask, I don't use a lot of masks and will probably put this in a upcoming trade I'll be doing.
I'll totally use the bag.
The Dead Sea samples are a big small but I'm sure I'll give them a try too.
And then the X Out Shine Control I didn't get so I can't speak on it.

And yes there is a random Plants Vs. Zombies Walnut in my photo.

Warm Hearted...

 - This was on a display I think for January as the "Color Of The Month" at Sally's.   It's Finger Paints "Warm He-Art-ed", it's a pretty color.  I was a little hesitant on it but I'm glad I got it.

Question.

Sorry I haven't posted for a little bit.  I do have some looks to post and nails to post but I haven't cropped/added a watermark, etc for them to be posted.  I was sick there for awhile and I'm still not 100%.

I did want to post and ask something.
Has anyone ever done a Project Pan?  Or try not to shop and just "Shop your stash"?   I've tried no buys before, but I think I need to maybe try that with the above but I really want to have someone do it with me for moral support.  Does anyone want to?   If you have done any of that please leave me a comment and tell me about it and how it went.

But yea, if you want to do a Project Pan/Shop Your Stash with me, let me know.

Don't Get Strung Out By The Way I Look...

- I'm in a group on Facebook that does weekly challenges, this week is Rocky Horror, now I feel I was like born to be Frank-N-Furter, so of course that's who I tried doing.  This was just a test run, I'm glad it was because now I know what I need to do differently, the shadows need to be a bit different blacks, there was too much silver in these.  His lips were more bright red and juicy.   And I didn't have any kind of white face make up, so I bought the lightest foundation I could, but it still isn't white enough, one of the girls told me a trick to mix baby powder with the foundation and I'll achieve the look.  I'm going to try that next time.

I did have fun doing this, and I'm going to do it again because I want to perfect more, I might also try doing some of the other characters too.

Mermaids Are Real.

 - This is Soiled's "Are Mermaids Real?" with "Kickin' The Habit" as the accent nail.  So pretty.

Cute Blog Award!

First off I want to thank Ashley of Follow The Yellow Polish Road for giving me this award, that's so sweet of her.  Be sure to go check out her blog everyone.

For this award you:
1. Link back to the person who awarded you
2. Answer the award questions
3. Tell something about yourself that you haven't told anyone on your blog yet
4. Award as many blogs as you think are worthy of this award
5. Make sure to let those you gave this award to know that you awarded them.

The Award Questions:

1. What is your go to makeup product?
I can go days without doing make up or my nails really, but I can not go a day, let alone a few hours without lip balm and my lip balm of choice is Eos all the way, I do not go out without one and I have them all over the apartment.

2. What was your favorite fashion trend of 2011?

I honestly can't even remember what was in right now haha, so like Ashley said glitter was big with nails and I know I was on that band wagon (I'll stay on it til someone throws me off of it haha).

3. What is your favorite dessert?

Cupcakes, cakes, ice cream.  Cookies.  I can keep going.  If we were going out and they had Boston Creme pie on the dessert menu, I'd be so happy, so let's really just say that.

4. Favourite color?

Purple, blue, and red.

5. What is your middle name?

Amara.

6. What was the last song that you listened to?

Adele I believe.

7. Cats or dogs?
Cats.  I own two.

Something about myself that you don't know:
My post before this was my 300th post, I didn't know til just now, that's pretty awesome right?  That's not really about me so I will also say, I'm going to be moving within the year which is good and bad.   Good because I will be so happy to be in a different situation, bad because I really do love my current apartment, I love my living room and the bedroom and even the bathroom.  Also bad because I'm going to have to downsize like crazy and for those who really know me, you'll know how bad that is for me.

Now for the people I'm tagging for the Cute Blog Award:

Nail Mail.

 - I did a swap with a lovely woman named Kate in one of the polishes groups I'm in, at the time I couldn't find Cinderella by Sinful and really wanted it, she had some extras, so that started the trade, then she offered to try and find me a few other things I wanted, in come the Spoiled polishes.  Which are "Kickin' The Habit", "Are Mermaids Real?" and "Violet Femmes", all so pretty.  Then she sent candy, yum.  I was her first trade ever (awesome) so I hope she loved her half.

Then the Hot Ticket polish is one MyGlam sent me as a kind of "Sorry for that screw up", I wasn't expecting it at all, didn't know it was coming, what a happy surprise.  So looking forward to the MyGlam bag in like a week!  The polish is called "Magenta Disposition".

- Then my gay husband, Aaron sent me a Valentine's Day package!  He sent me samples and candy.  A cute little bag.  A adorable little A.  Then he sent me two Cosmetic Arts polishes he picked out, loving that muted lilac one.  A Color Club top coat to try, then Zoya's Kristen which I was lemming hard.   And lastly the Models Ink set, never heard of them before, but I really like the shadow colors and look forward to trying them.

I got some more Nail Mail that I didn't get a picture of yet (but it's coming Amy) that I am excited to post soon!

Frisky With A Touch Of Whimsy.

 - This is Orly Frisky and Revlon Whimiscal.

I really wasn't sure how Whimsical was going to look on Frisky being that it leans more towards the green family than blue, although not by a lot.

I have another polish in mind that I think will be perfect for layering with Whimsical but I don't have it yet, it's on it's way to me.
- And Blogger felt like it should flip my photo, stupid Blogger.

I've been sick for the past week (second sinus infection in a month) so I'm sorry for my lack of thrilling posts.

I'd like to do some more eye looks soon and of course more nails too.

Here's the original post.

Blue-Eyed Girl...

 - This is one I got in my Secret Cupid package, it's a Kleancolor called Blue-Eyed Girl, I think normally it's layered over another blue but I wanted to try it just by itself, I believe this was three coats.   I really liked it.
- Next time I'll try layering it though and see how that is.

Thank you again Jebba.

A Look Joe Did...

 - This is a look Joe did for me.   I really have no idea what she used.

These shots are taken at the end of the night, right before I washed it off, so it's worse for wear.

I didn't even notice it was creasing until I saw the pictures, so I guess it wasn't as noticable in person.   It creased because we were trying for a foiled look and probably lost the primer due to the water in the spot.

- And a full face shot.

Take A Peek...
